Do you have a special offer for first timers?
Yep! We have an introductory offer for 5 reformer classes for $50 for all new clients to The Pilates Venue. This offer is valid for 2 weeks from your first booking (no extensions).
What options do I have for purchasing classes?
We offer weekly memberships (3 month minimum), monthly, yearly and casual class packs. Look at which option that suits you best on the ‘packages’ tab of our website or the ‘more’ section on the app. The more you commit, the more you will save!
Weekly memberships start from the day you sign up, monthly and yearly packages begin on your first class booking.
How do I book classes?
Download The Pilates Venue app from the app store or login to your account in the above tab. Select which package you would like to purchase, then head to the schedule to book in your classes! We recommend you allow the calendar reminders to receive notifications with your class booking details.
Can I just show up, or do I need to book?
At The Pilates Venue we always recommend you book in advance. Classes tend to fill up quickly and we only have limited spots available. If you do show up without a booking, we may not be able to accommodate you.
What is your cancellation policy?
You have up to 9 hours prior to the start time of your class to cancel and avoid paying for the class you booked. Cancellations prior to the 9-hour window will be placed back into your account to use for next time. Cancellations within the 9-hour window will be taken from your class pack.
If there is an emergency, we may ask for a medical certificate to reinstate that class you missed. Please note, cancellations are to be done via The Pilates Venue app or your online account (we do not accept cancellations via social media, text, phone or email).
How many people are in each class?
At The Pilates Venue we may have up to 10 members in each of our classes. Small class sizes enable us to get to know each of our members, challenge and support your fitness goals.
Is there anything I need to know for my first class?
Please ensure you arrive 5-10 minutes early to your first class at The Pilates Venue. This will allow enough time for you to meet your instructor, get to know the space and familiarise yourself with the equipment. If you arrive late to class, you may not be able to join in. Please ensure you have highlighted any injuries or movement difficulties in your sign-up information (on the app or your online account) and also let your instructor know, so they are able to provide modifications for you.
For the safety and hygiene of all our members, you are required to bring along a sweat towel or reformer mat (to place over the carriage) and wear grip socks. Towels, reformer mats and grip socks are available to purchase in the studio.
What class should I start with?
TPV Empower is a great starting point for all our members, even if you are fit and have done reformer Pilates elsewhere. It is important to familiarise yourself with The Pilates Venue equipment, style of training and exercises before levelling up.
Can I still attend if I have an injury?
Classes at The Pilates Venue are group-based so you will not receive a personalised workout plan. If you are pregnant (over 15 weeks) or have a chronic injury, we recommend inquiring about a 1:1 session with one of our instructors.
Do I need to be fit to attend?
No. Our TPV Empower classes are suitable for all our members, regardless or age or fitness levels. Members are able to work at their own pace and progressions and regressions are given throughout the session to cater for a range of fitness levels. We want you to feel challenged, there will be shakes and sweat!
Please read the class description on the app or website before booking, to ensure you are selecting the most appropriate class for yourself.
I’m Pregnant, can I still attend?
You can attend our group classes until you are 15 weeks. If you are over 15 weeks, we recommend inquiring about a 1:1 session with one of our instructors. We have also introduced our 'stretch and tone' classes which are pregnancy friendly as they move at a slower pace and can be adapted for safety.
Is there an age limit?
Yep! You must be over the age of 16 years to attend a class at The Pilates Venue.
Can I bring my kids to class?
Due to health and safety reasons, we are unable to have children in the studio or in the reception area while a class is on.
What should I wear to class?
It is best to wear comfortable clothes that you can sweat and move in (e.g., tights, shorts and either a singlet or t-shirt).
For the safety and hygiene of all our members, you are required to wear grip socks to your sessions at The Pilates Venue (grip socks are available to purchase in the studio if you do not have any). Grip socks also enable your feet to grip to the reformer better so you are able to do the exercises properly.
Can I transfer or share sessions?
Unfortunately, not. We are unable to transfer classes between friends or family members.
Can I bring my phone into the studio during class?
You are most welcome to bring your phone into the studio, but we do ask that you leave it switched to silent mode and place it safely in the pigeon holes with your other belongings (we do not want it to get damaged by the equipment!). You are always welcome to snap a pre or post workout selfie and tag us on socials @thepilatesvenue.
We also ask that you do not bring glass drink bottles into the studio. Post workout shakes, glass drink bottles and polished concrete floors do not mix well!
What if I’m running late to class?
All of our classes include a warm up at the beginning of class which is necessary to safely ease your body into the workout. If you are late and have missed the warm-up, the instructor may refuse you entry into the class (and you will forfeit your class).
How do waitlists work?
Classes are busy, so please take advantage of the waitlist option on the app. If a spot becomes available, you will be notified (via email or text) as our system will automatically add you to the class. If you join the waitlist, please be ready to go to a class up to one hour before the class starts. If you can no longer make the time, please make sure to remove yourself from the waitlist to give someone else an opportunity to get into the class (as you will be charged if you get into the class from the waitlist). By adding yourself to the waitlist, it is your responsibility to check if you have been added to the class. Please be mindful that if you are on a waitlist for an early morning class, you may still be automatically added to a class overnight if a spot becomes available. If you make the decision to not be available for the early morning class before you go to bed, please remove yourself from the waitlist.
You are able to see your position on the waitlist in the app. Please also ensure you have enabled communications from the app so you are notified if you do get a spot in the class.
How often should I come to classes?
This is a personal decision which will depend on your fitness goals, body and recovery. We recommend starting with two to three classes per week and increasing from there.
